The file "Icon Machine Help.html" is an HTML file intended for viewing in the Mac OS 8.5 Help Viewer. If you don't have Mac OS 8.5, you can open it with any web browser.
Why did the price change? What if I already registered?
So much has happened since version 1.0 that I decided it merits an additional $5. Previously registered users can upgrade for $5. Once I have confirmed that you are in fact a registered user, I will send the registration code.
Where is the icon mask?
The two buttons in the top right of the window let you switch between Mask View and Normal View. You can also switch by pressing the tab key.
How do I draw without affecting the mask?
Use the drawing mode buttons in the lower left corner. The one on the right is image-only mode, which keeps tools from affecting the mask. As a shourtcut, you can hold down the command and option keys.
Why don't I see my changes in the Finder when I save?
Give it a few seconds. The Finder is just a little slow about noticing that an icon has changed.
Why can't I use the gradient tool inside selections like in Photoshop?
Right now none of the drawing tools works inside selections. This feature will be added in the future.
How do I make icon resources?
Directly editing icon resources will be possible in a future version of Icon Machine. For now, you can use the Copy Family command to get the entire icon family onto the clipboard, and then paste it into a file using ResEdit.
